Solar PV Backup system – Gulu & Kitgum Select Health Facilities (Straight Talk Foundation)

A Total of 11 Health Centers were worked on, 4 facilities in the Kitgum district and 7 facilities Gulu District in the northern region of Uganda. These included Kotch Ongako HCIII, Bobi HCIII, Loyo Ajonga HCII, Cwero HCIII, Patiko HCIII, Awach HCIV, Bardege HCIII, Kitgum Matidi, Kitgum Straight Talk Maternity, Namukora HCIV & Mucwini HCII

A typical Solar PV Backup system consisted of 520W of Solar Module Array, 400AH Maintenance Free Battery bank, 45A PWM charge controller unit, and a 300VA Pure sine wave inverter Unit except for Kitgum Straight Talk Youth Center which had a 3,120W of Solar Module Array, 2,000AH Maintenance Free Battery bank, 60A MPPT charge controller unit and a 5KVA Pure sine wave inverter. These systems run computers for data entry, Vaccine refrigeration, and Lighting.
