Solar PV System for Laptop & Phone Charging Booth (UNHCR)

A total of 6 (Six) refugee protection Desks benefited from this project in the northern and southwestern regions of Uganda.

  • Kiryandongo protection desk, Kiryandongo refugee settlement Kiryandongo district, northern Uganda
  • Majii II protection desk, Adjumani refugee settlement Lamwo district, northern Uganda

A typical Solar PV system consisted of an 810W of Solar Module Array, a 400AH Maintenance Free Battery bank, a 45A charge controller unit, a 2000VA Pure sine wave inverter Unit, and a well-ventilated lockable booth. These systems have been fitted with online remote monitoring devices to monitor performance

The goal of the project is to supply reliable power for computers, routers, desktop printers, and all power equipment used at these refugee protection desks in registering clients. The system is also used for charging phones for refugees being served and those living nearby
